Here’s a useful flowchart from the Ministry of Justice’s ‘Choice not Chance” campaign, showing who would receive your assets if you died without a Will. It doesn’t mention the fact that your children would inherit the assets outright at age 18, however. For many clients, who wish to delay their children’s inheritance until they are older and more mature, that alone is a compelling reason to make a Will.
