Hello! I’m Rebecca D’Arcy and I run Chiltern Wills, a Will writing business based in Beaconsfield. I’m an experienced former London solicitor.

I read law at university, and qualified as a solicitor in 2005. I then practised in London, most recently working for Collyer Bristow LLP for 5 years. Throughout my career, I’ve specialised in Wills, trusts, powers of attorney, probate and tax planning work.

How did Chiltern Wills come about?

I’ve always dreamt of running my own business, and once I had a young family it became important to me to be able work more flexibly than a traditional law firm role would allow, so I decided to establish Chiltern Wills.

In terms of qualifications, in addition to being a solicitor, I hold the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Diploma in Trusts & Estates, the STEP Advanced Certificate in UK Tax for International Clients, the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS) Diploma and the Financial Planning Certificate. When I worked in London, I was a member of the STEP London Central Branch committee, and sometimes presented STEP seminars to large groups of lawyers. I’ve also completed the SWWEPP Wills and Estate Planning course through the College of Will Writing and am a member of the Society of Will Writers.

I was nominated as one of the “Top 35 under 35” Private Client solicitors 2011 by Private Client Practitioner magazine, and I’ve written technical articles for various legal publications, including Private Client Business, the STEP Journal and Trusts & Estates Law & Tax Journal.

Nowadays, I write regularly for various client-facing publications, and speak to local groups about the importance of Wills and Powers of Attorney, inheritance tax planning and other relevant topics.
